Omega Centauri NGC 5139 - this mighty globular cluster was discovered by Edmond Haleey in 1677 and is the largest cluster if its type in our Milky Way system.
It consists of at least 4 million solar masses within 10 million stars and estimated to be 12 billion years old
Distance: 15,800 light years.
